An Evening of Worship and Prayer

I was so filled with the Spirit that I could not sleep that night.

We had our first evening of worship and prayer on December 4. It was a simple Wednesday. We promoted it yet didn't have any numerical expectation. I mean we all did have some hope but the reality was this evening was not about how many people showed up. It was about meeting with the One who desires our audience with Him in prayer. As more people than a usual prayer time started to fill our auditorium, anticipation began to grow. I gave some opening instruction as to how the evening would go. Then we started to worship. We sought God by lifting Jesus high in worship. Then we prayed. Then we got real with God, confessing our sins and seeking God to lead us forward. We lifted Him higher in worship. We closed with a special time of ministry and laying on of hands.

It was one of the top times of worship and prayer I have experienced in a local church. The best since I have come to Ruidoso for sure.

I was so filled with the Spirit that I could not sleep that night.

It was amazing.

If we are to live the life of fire, we must be full of the Holy Spirit. We are in dependence on Him:

"As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire" (Matt. 3:11 NASB). The pathway to this fire, this power (Acts 1:8) is by waiting before the Lord in prayer. He shows up (Acts 2:1-11).
